[Settings](https://kb.kudurrustone.com/company?hsLang=en#settings) # How to Manage Project Types ## Project Types categorize the kind of work a project or quote represents.  For example, Residential, Commercial, New Construction, or Inspection. Each type also carries a color that appears as the map marker for projects of that type on the project map view, making it easy to visually distinguish work at a glance. ### Managing Project Types Navigate to **Settings → Project Types** to view, add, edit, or remove types. **Fields on each project type:** - **Description** *(required)* — The label that appears in the Project Type dropdown on project and quote records. - **Color** *(required)* — The color used for map markers for projects of this type. Pick a color using the color selector — each type should have a distinct color so the map stays readable. --- ### Adding a New Type 1. Go to **Settings → Project Types**. 2. Click **Create New**. 3. Enter a **Description**. 4. Select a **Color** using the color picker. 5. Click **Save**. The new type is immediately available in the Project Type dropdown on project and quote records. --- ### Editing a Type 1. Click the **Edit** link next to the type. 2. Update the description or color. 3. Click **Save**. The updated label and color reflect immediately on all project and quote records using that type, including the map view. --- ### Deleting a Type Click **Delete** next to a type and confirm on the following page. If the type is assigned to any project or quote, Kudurru will block the deletion and display a warning.
