How to onboard
This article outlines the essential steps and key components for a smooth onboarding experience with Kudurru Stone, including account setup, feature navigation, and best practices for new accounts
At first, onboarding to Kudurru Stone can seem like a very large undertaking. But rest assured we will guide you through the main key steps here to get you up and running as quickly as possible. When broken down into key steps you will begin to realize the process is actually straightforward and you will be surprised how quickly you begin to see the benefits.
Existing Data
Yes, we can import your existing data for you. We prefer Excel or a CSV file but we have worked with many different file types and even database types no longer supported or active. We can import data from just about anything. The first step would be to send that data over to us.
Company Account Setup
It is important to set up your company profile. You can access that from the "Settings" menu and then "Company Settings". Be sure to enter your company address at the very least. Much of the other information should be auto filled for you.
Add Company Users
If you have other users who need access then you should also set those up now. You can manage your users from the "Settings" menu and then clicking on "Manage Users". Here you can add and setup each user for your company.
Quote and Invoice PDF Layouts
If you plan to print Quotes and Invoices from Kudurru Stone and send to your clients you are going to want you branding applied to those quotes and invoices. Please send us examples of your quotes and invoices so that we can custom tailor those print layouts to fit with whatever you already have.
Other Settings
Once you have all the above completed we recommend you at least setup a few additional items under your "Settings" Menu. We recommend at a minimum the following:
-
Contact Types
-
When you add a Contact to a Client it may be helpful to set the type of contact they are. For instance, if this is a billing contact or a project manager.
-
-
Employee Titles
-
When setting up your company users you can specify a default Title they should be associated with. This can then be applied to any time entries that an employee creates.
-
-
Project Types
-
When you add a project or a quote to Kudurru Stone you select the Type of Project it is. Therefore it is important to add the type of projects you work on.
-
- Task List
- Scheduling and employee time are dependent on project tasks. This is an important step to complete. You can think of your Task List as actionable items that make up a greater project. They can have due dates, their own status, and assignees.
- Status List Quote
- A quote should always have a status as it works through your internal pipelines. Your account comes preloaded with example Quote Status but you can modify and create your own.
- Status List Project/Task
- Same as Quotes. A project or a Task should always have a status that defines where that project or project task is within your own pipelines.
