How to Quote Additional Services and Change Orders
This article explains how to create a new quote for Additional Services or a Change Order and link it to an existing project. Use this process when a client requests additional work after a project has already been created, but you do not want to start a new project.
Steps to Create and Link an Additional Services or Change Order Quote
1. Create a New Quote

Navigate to the Quotes section.

Click Create New Quote from the left navigation under Quotes.

In the Quote Type field, select either:

Additional Services
-
Change Order

Tip: Choosing the correct Quote Type helps differentiate these quotes from your original project quote for tracking and reporting purposes.
2. Associate the Quote with an Existing Project

On the New Quote screen, locate the Project field.

Select the existing project you want to link this quote to.

Click Create to generate the quote.
Your new quote is now associated with the selected project.
3. Build and Submit the Quote for Approval
The process for adding line items, pricing, and obtaining client approval is the same as when creating a standard quote.
Follow your organization’s standard quote approval workflow.
Note: Once approved, this quote can later be used to add new tasks to your existing project. See How to Insert Quote Tasks into a Project for details.
4. Link an Existing Quote to a Project (If You Forgot Earlier)
If you didn’t associate the quote with a project during creation, you can still link it later.

Open the quote you want to link.

Click the Project Operations button near the top of the page.

From the dropdown menu, select Link Existing Project.

Choose the desired project from the list to establish the connection.
