Using Dashboard View Widgets

If you use the Project Dashboard or Quote Dashboard to manage filtered views of your data, you can embed any of those saved views as a widget on My Dashboard. This lets you monitor the data that matters most to you without navigating away from your home screen. You can add multiple Dashboard View widgets — each showing a different saved view in a different display mode.

Overview

If you use the Project Dashboard or Quote Dashboard to manage filtered views of your data, you can embed any of those saved views as a widget on My Dashboard. This lets you monitor the data that matters most to you without navigating away from your home screen.

You can add multiple Dashboard View widgets — each showing a different saved view in a different display mode.

Requirements

Before adding a Dashboard View widget, you must have at least one saved view in your Project Dashboard or Quote Dashboard. If you have not created any saved views yet:

  1. Navigate to Projects → Project Dashboard (or Quotes → Quote Dashboard).
  2. Configure the filters and columns you want.
  3. Save the view using the Save View option.
  4. Return to My Dashboard and add the widget.

If you select "Project Dashboard View" or "Quote Dashboard View" in the Add Widget dialog and have no saved views, a message will appear with a link to create one.

Adding a Dashboard View Widget

  1. Click Customize, then click Add Widget.
  2. Under Widget Type, select either Project Dashboard View or Quote Dashboard View.
  3. In the view dropdown that appears, select the saved view you want to display.
  4. Choose a Display Mode (see below).
  5. (If Summary mode) Set the number of rows to display.
  6. (Optional) Enter a custom Widget Title.
  7. Click Add Widget.

Display Modes

When adding a Dashboard View widget, you choose how it presents its data:

Display Mode What it shows
Full The complete paginated data table, exactly as it appears in the Project or Quote Dashboard. Includes column headers, sorting, and pagination controls. Best for larger widgets.
Summary A condensed table showing the top N rows (you choose the number, default is 5). No pagination. Best for a quick preview in a smaller widget.
Count A single large number showing the total record count for that view. Ideal for at-a-glance monitoring in a small widget — similar to the Summary Cards row.

Example use case: Add your "Active Projects" view in Count mode for a quick metric at the top of your dashboard, and the same view in Summary mode below it to see the five most recent entries at a glance.

Changing Display Mode After Adding

You can change the display mode of any Dashboard View widget at any time:

  1. Click Customize to enter edit mode.
  2. Click the gear icon on the widget you want to update.
  3. In the Widget Settings dialog, change the Display Mode and adjust the row count if needed.
  4. Click Save.

The widget will reload with the updated settings.
